Setting The Website Standard

Setting The Website Standard

Having been producing websites since the Internet started we have created and produced literally hundreds (probably thousands) of websites. During this time we have experienced most if not all of the changes that the web has had to offer. We have found that standardisation for consumers (after all that is what our websites are aimed at) has been disjointed to say the least. We thought that we should start standardising the content and layout of our sites to enable consumers to be able to trust and become immediately familiar with the navigation of the sites they use. There follows a blog that shows what we think should be the standard and how we will apply them to our websites that are included in ‘The Trusted Web’ and we very interested in your comments about this, so please feel free to post your opinions..

Setting Up Twitter For Busines

Setting Up Twitter For Busines

We have started with Twitter because many of the Social Media sites and applications allow links to Twitter, so when you set the others up you will already have twitter ready for use

OK so weve all heard or have even used Twitter, but we are now going to use Twitter to propogate your Brand, so we are not going to tell everyone that we have just had a cup of coffee or have just had lunch with someone. This information is only of interest to people who know the person. We are going to ‘tweet’ about our business or brand. Remember, ‘Dont Promote But Engage’. People will not follow you if all you do is promote your brand, products and business. Follow these tips below and you will see what we mean.

To show how this works we will be using the example of Coconex.coma new facebook type website using Social Media for Business.

Find out about your potential customers

Their followers will be interested in both promoting their businesses for free on Coconex using Social Media so using this cool tool from twitter we will search for the  term ‘Social Media For Business’ . This results in numerous results form people who are interested in Social Media For Business. Think of other search terms that suit your business that people will be interested in.

Creating your Profile

You are using your brand so you will be creating an account using your business name. You may not always be able to register your business name because it has already been taken. Coconex is a good example, they are new to the internet and so they used Co_Conex as their twitter account name. Next ensure you fill out all your twitter settings. Ensure you tick the location box. Remember to add your image and also change the background image to reflect your business and branding. To  find out more about this just ask below in the comments and we will respond.

Build Trust and Credibility

Building your credibilty about your knowledge in your business sector is vital. You will not gain but loose existing followers if you just promote your products and services. Again ‘Dont Promote, But Engage’. We at TheNetShop will tweet this post because even though our business is providing a service to use Social Media, we understand some businesses will want to try themselves and some wont have time so they pay us to do it. Make sure that the majority of your tweets are personalised and the remainder is about your business products and services. To further enahnce trust get your businss trust seal form vendors such as KwikChex.

Understand your customers before you start tweeting

Spend some time reading other tweets about your business market. This is a great way to get started. Why? because when you see a question or a query that you can answer then send them a message. Just about everytime you will find that they will follow you and you now have an ‘engaging (qualified) follower’.

OK now you have an understanding of how to engage your business into twitter, go ahead and get started. The next part of our Social Media Business Guide will tackle the infamous Facebook.
